The Comites de Nice (Committee for Italians Abroad) is organizing a conference this Wednesday, June 17th at 6 PM, at the Italian General Consulate, in the Giuseppe Garibaldi theater hall (72 Bd Gambetta) to present its guide “Vivere, lavorare e inserirsi in Francia” (Living, working, and integrating in France), intended for Italians wishing to settle in France, and published in collaboration with the Italian Chamber of Commerce.

Italians represent a significant demographic on the Cรดte dโ€™Azur from economic, social, and cultural perspectives. Some figures demonstrate this: 33,000 Italian nationals are present in the departments 04, 05, and 06, with almost 10,000 residing in the city of Nice.

In addition to these official figures, there are nearly 50,000 Italians who own a secondary residence on the Cรดte dโ€™Azur, not to mention that each year approximately 2 million Italians visit the region for various reasons: work, tourism, study, etc. Furthermore, Italy is the primary economic partner of our region.

Since the economic crisis of 2007/2008, we have witnessed a massive influx of young Italians searching for employment. In 2006, the Italian Consulate recorded 25,000 citizens from the peninsula, and today we have reached 33,000.

Increasingly, the demand for practical information on integration into French society is rising. This guide aims to address these inquiries and help Italians adapt as best as possible to French society.
