The launch of the Solar Certificate for young people in Nice

Latest News

In the framework of prevention programs within municipal leisure centers (dangers of swimming, sun exposure, etc.), the Solar Certificate program will be implemented starting at the end of June in the 26 municipal leisure centers.

The Solar Certificate is an extracurricular initiative aimed at introducing children aged 6 to 11 to scientific concepts to help them understand the Sun, its effects on Earth and on the skin, in order to better protect themselves.

By the end of the summer, more than 1500 children will have been educated on the appropriate behaviors to adopt when dealing with the Sun.

This Wednesday, June 4, 2014, the initiative will be presented to the children at the Impératrice Eugénie leisure center. A dermatologist will explain to them the 5 golden rules to follow to protect themselves from the Sun. Afterwards, the Solar Certificates will be awarded to the children.

Launched by the National Union of Dermatologists and Venereologists and La Roche-Posay, the Solar Certificate is made available free of charge to municipalities, leisure centers, or willing teachers since April 2014. The program is currently being deployed across France.
