It is now official: the city of Budapest is a candidate for the 2024 Summer Olympics. Anything but a surprise since the project was voted on by both political authorities, the City Council and then the Hungarian Parliament.
The announcement of this candidacy was made official by a letter sent to the IOC.
A letter dated July 7 and signed by the mayor of the capital and the president of the Hungarian Olympic Committee.
Budapest joins Boston, Rome, Hamburg, and Paris in the race for the 2024 Summer Olympics.
