The Rectorate announced the results of the 2015 Baccalaureate exam. To the delight of many and with some tears of joy, but also the disappointment, even distress, of those who fell short…
From a statistical standpoint, one can only express satisfaction with this outcome: surely, it is far from perfect, but progress is being made, and that is the most important thing. The results:
For the general baccalaureate: 83.0% (+2.9 points compared to 2014)
Distribution by series among first group passers:
o 82.3% in L series (+4.9 points)
o 82.6% in ES series (+6.3 points)
o 83.4% in S series (stability)
3,539 distinctions among first group passers: 862 Very Good mentions – 1,151 Good mentions – 1,526 Fairly Good mentions (with mentions in Monaco: 77 Very Good mentions, 70 Good mentions, and 73 Fairly Good mentions)
For the technological baccalaureate: 84.8% (+4.8 points compared to 2014)
Distribution by series among first group passers:
o 92.9% in STD2A series (+0.1 point)
o 83.9% in STI2D series (+1.5 points)
o 80.7% in STL series (-1.8 points)
o 77.8% in ST2S series (-0.3 point)
o 86.9% in STMG series (+8.7 points)
o 100% in TMD series (+5.9 points)
o 69.0% in hotel management baccalaureate (-17.7 points)
1,096 distinctions among first group passers: 66 Very Good mentions – 320 Good mentions – 710 Fairly Good mentions (with mentions in Monaco: 7 Very Good mentions, 24 Good mentions, and 25 Fairly Good mentions)
For the professional baccalaureate: 71.8% (-4.4 points compared to 2014)
Distribution by sectors among first group passers:
o 70.4% in production sector (-1.1 point)
o 72.7% in services sector (-6.4 points)
1,035 distinctions among first group passers: 30 Very Good mentions – 248 Good mentions – 757 Fairly Good mentions (with mentions in Monaco: 2 Very Good mentions, 18 Good mentions, and 45 Fairly Good mentions)
