This July weekend, the first electric-assisted mountain bike show in France, “The Electro Bike Festival,” is taking place at the Auron resort.

electro_bikr.jpg The Electrobike will offer a unique opportunity to explore the world of electric-assisted bicycles by testing the full range of the 14 most prestigious brands on the market.

For 2 days, the Auron resort will live to the beat of the electric, with an expo village, a professional forum, adult and children sports competitions, test tracks, and numerous family activities.

The aim of the event is to offer enthusiasts or just the curious, whether they are amateurs or professional cyclists, the chance to gather around an innovative and friendly event, promoting nature and cycling through the potential of this new family of electric-assisted cycles.

Thanks to the official Electrobike badge, all participants will have access to the entire MTB space, which will be accessible via ski lifts or trails serving the many descents specially adapted for the practice of alpine mountain biking. They can collect the descent markers throughout their day to obtain alpine mountain biking certificates.

The show will offer the chance to test a range of premium brand electric-assisted bicycles (Cannondale, Giant, Lapierre, Haibike, KTM, Moustache, Scott) on 2 MARKED TEST TRACKS: the “discovery” track (3.5 km on a wide and relatively flat path) and the “practitioners” track (3.3 km and 110 m of elevation on trails).

The sports program will include two competitions on Saturday afternoon. The MEGAKID reserved for children aged 9 to 14 and the 3rd stage of the E-Bike MTB Series.

For budding champions, the MEGAKID will start from the summit of Blainon on a 5 km course with a 550 m negative elevation to the heart of the expo village after a run on the Riou track.

The E-Bike MTB Series will take place on 3 loops of 3.4 km with 600 m elevation to test the autonomy of batteries whose consumption is inversely proportional to the pilot’s physical engagement.

At the start line, Polish favorite Greg Falski on Haibike, winner of the first stage in Lyon, will have a challenge to fend off attacks from Claude Vergier, recent winner of the 2nd stage at the Transvรฉsubienne. Not to mention the thirst for revenge of Olivier Giordanengo, unlucky at the beginning of the season.

The Ebike MTB series is open to competitors of all levels, wishing to discover the sport side of electric-assisted mountain biking.

Aside from the races and test tracks, the show will offer 4 conferences to delve deeper into this new trend among professionals:

Overview of equipment and technical developments (by Olivier Giordanengo, double winner of the Transvรฉsubienne E-Bike)

Marketing and commercialization of E-Bikes (by Gilles Lapierre, creator of the Overvolt)

E-MTB sports and special assemblies (by Tristan Sailland, specialist, and designer)

Eco-citizenship and outlooks for tourism professionals (by Cleanenergyplanet and MCF).
