At the conclusion of the city council marking the transfer of power between Christian Estrosi and Philippe Pradal, on Monday morning, they embarked on their first official visit as the new mayor and new deputy mayor.

Following a city council meeting marked by a transfer of power contested by the opposition, Christian Estrosi, new deputy mayor of Nice, and Philippe Pradal, new mayor of Nice, visited the premises of the Fourneau Economique association, located at 2, rue Badat.

This visit is far from anecdotal. As Gรฉrard Forcheri, president of the association, emphasizes, “it’s a symbol that Philippe Pradal comes here for his first visit”. Indeed, he was president of the association from 2003 to 2008, and he remains a member.

Immediately upon their arrival, the two men enter the building and meet with the volunteers. Sister Monique, who assists Sister Anne-Marie, the director of the Fourneau Economique, welcomes them with a smile. She cannot hide her joy and pride: “it’s a great honor to receive you!” she exclaims.

Among the tables in the large dining hall, Christian Estrosi and Philippe Pradal greet the people who are having lunch. Some are surprised to see the mayor and his deputy mayor arrive. Stunned, one of them cannot believe it: “it’s really strange to see them here, but it feels good to feel supported”. The two men have a word for everyone.

They then visit the kitchens, always preceded by Sister Monique. Once again, they exchange a few words with the staff present, who pause to respond to a few requests.

Before departing, Philippe Pradal exchanges some premonitory words with Sister Monique, who thanks him once again for his visit. “Now, we’re going to get to work”, smiles the new mayor of the city of Nice.
