The FNAIM real estate barometer confirms that the recovery in activity continues during the second quarter. A 15% increase in sales volumes supports this situation, which restores morale to the profession after a few lean years.
There is even slight pressure on prices for primary residences, indicating that demand is strong: “The resale market on the Côte d’Azur is regaining its dynamism, even though we are still far from the exceptional activity levels of 2004 to 2008. The seasonality effect further amplifies this trend, which should continue throughout the summer,” commented Frédéric Pelou, President of FNAIM Côte d’Azur.
In Nice and its region, the price trend for the first quarter of 2016 is 4,319 euros per square meter, with a selling time of 123 days, showing clear improvement compared to 2015.
So, is now the time to buy?
“Nothing suggests that in the coming months, the combination of housing prices and financing conditions will be more favorable than today,” advises the same Frédéric Pelou, President of FNAIM Côte d’Azur.
Therefore, one should follow this wise and somewhat… interested advice!
