EIA, the student world of the digital start-up, concluded its summer summit with an awards ceremony. The jury of this program selected two winners, and the Nice Cรดte d’Azur Metropolis three, all from Nice.

500 students gathered at the Saint-Jean d’Angรฉly campus in Nice since July 6. China, the United States, Singapore, England, France (about thirty from Nice).

They came from all over the world, representing 65 universities among the famous ones like EDHEC, Oxford, and Cambridge. Initially, 100 teams of five young people developed their ideas. In the end, 80 projects came to fruition. Choices had to be made to select the winners.

The European Innovation Academy (EIA) recognized a creation from Nice, “Family 2 family,” a potential future competitor of Airbnb. The students designed a web platform for apartment exchanges between families worldwide. Also awarded was “A friend abroad”: the goal is to facilitate meetings when studying abroad, with industry giants like Google and IBM, present during these three weeks.

Honoring Niรงois

Partnering with the EIA, the Nice Cรดte d’Azur Metropolis (NCA) spotlighted three local projects. “Family 2 family” continued to charm. Hospital staff may soon benefit from “Mon majordome.” No more need to wash or iron their uniforms at home (among other services), a concierge will do it for them. Lastly, there’s “My legacy” for economic interests. This concept will give individuals without heirs the possibility to pass on their knowledge and money to a company through an investment.

And as every effort deserves compensation, the students’ efforts were not in vain. At least, for the winners. The โ‚ฌ10,000 from the EIA will surely help develop the valued start-ups.

On the NCA side, the first prize is cut in half, โ‚ฌ5,000. The second and third prize winners receive six months of support with the European Center for Enterprises and Innovation (CEEI).

This organization supporting innovative entrepreneurs will integrate them into the NCA business incubator, a start-up cluster based in the Var plain under the name CEEI. An immersion among peers to learn the tricks of the trade.
