The court-appointed administrator Xavier Huertas will present on Monday, September 8, to the judges of the Nice commercial court, the six takeover bids for Nice-Matin. The group has been in receivership since May 27.
To support the cooperative takeover project by the employees, an auction is organized to raise funds.
Without waiting for the decision, the initiative has gained the support of numerous artists who wanted to show their attachment to a struggling publication. They are not the only ones.
Under the hammer of Me Besch, auctioneer, it will take place this Saturday, September 6, starting at 3 pm, at the Mediterranean University Center on the Promenade des Anglais.

The artistic and sports world has rallied for this cause: Johnny Wilkinson has contributed his signature.
A hundred works are up for auction, gathering some of the biggest names in contemporary art. Including a corten steel study by Bernar Venet for Nice’s 9 Oblique Lines, one meter tall, which could surpass the 50,000 euros mark.
A unique piece by Ben, crafted for the event, as well as a canvas by Louis Cane, both with estimates of 2,000 to 3,000 euros. A very large drawing by Ernest Pignon-Ernest (starting price: 12,000 euros); a bronze multiple by Arman; original works by Claude Gilli, Patrick Moya, Gérald Panighi, Mr OneTeas, Graff, Taburchi, Saïssi, Nivèse, or Guichou; and also photographs by Jean Ferrero and Jean-Robert Franco, starting from a few dozen euros.
Added to these are handwritten letters by Matisse, Victor Hugo, Chateaubriand, or De Gaulle.
On the sports side, Dario Cvitanich, Camille Muffat, Yannick Noah, Rafael Nadal, Falcao, or Bosetti, Johnny Wilkinson have specially signed balls and jerseys for this unprecedented charity sale.
All proceeds will be donated to the subscription launched by Nice-Matin employees to save the newspaper.
