La Croisette will once again come alive from September 20 to 27, pulsating to the rhythm of the Régates Royales – Trophée Panerai with a fleet of around sixty Dragons and an armada of classic yachts, several of which proudly bear more than a hundred years of age! A unique and majestic gathering.

In 2015, Cannes will celebrate thirty-seven years of the revival of the Régates Royales, one of the oldest coastal races as the first edition took place in 1929 to honor King Christian X of Denmark…

For the past ten years, the Régates Royales de Cannes has also been the last annual event of the Trophée Panerai, a true world championship of classic yachting:

Five days of racing off the Lérins Islands for a fleet divided into seven categories based on the size, age, and rigging of the sailboats.

An exceptional gathering as the largest and most famous yachts of the last century will come to compete, including the majestic Eleonora (49.40 m, Nathanael Herreshoff design), Xarif (49.70 m, JM. Soper design), Mariquita (38.20 m, William Fife design), Moonbeam of Fife III (30 m, William Fife design), Karenita (23.20 m, John Alden design)… but also the most renowned racers of the 20th century such as the Maxi-Yacht Il Moro di Venezia (20.40 m, German Frers design), or key figures in the RORC and Mediterranean races of the 60s-70s like Helisara (11.30 m, Dick Carter design), Palynodie (Olin Stephens), Stiren (14.25 m, Olin Stephens design), Oryx (14.90 m, Illingworth & Primrose design) or Ganbare (10.50 m, Doug Peterson design).
