14,320 participants will start this morning at 8:00 AM on the Promenade des Anglais to reach the Boulevard de la Croisette in Cannes, just steps away from the Palais des Festivals.
This new record of participation allows the Alpes-Maritimes Nice-Cannes Marathon to confirm its status as the number one marathon in France after Paris, and furthermore continues to establish its international event status by featuring participants from 63 nations in total, with 28% of them being international competitors.
Moreover, the event benefits once again this year from the IAAF bronze label, a mark of quality and expertise recognized on an international scale.
Participant numbers as of 11/4/2015: 8,300 marathoners / 1,450 pairs registered for the 2ร21.1 km event, totaling 2,900 participants, and 520 teams registered for the 6-person Relay Marathon, totaling 3,120 participants.
Top 3 countries represented (excluding France): Great Britain, Italy, and Sweden.
This year, apart from the traditional athlete field, the event will host several elected officials and representatives from the partner municipalities of the race.
Among the best regional participants, Franรงois HOLZERNY, licensed at Nice Cรดte dโAzur Athlรฉtisme, and Richard HOBBY, licensed at Courir en Pays de Grasse, will compete in the Marathon distance.
