“20 years of Explorimages at Parc Phoenix”

Latest News

As every year, the International Festival of Nature and Adventure Image will be an opportunity for extraordinary sporting, human, and scientific adventures around the world (including in our region!)

Organized by AGEFIISA, this festival is, today, a place for meetings, reflection, and dialogue between specialists and the general public, a platform offered to filmmakers, photographers, scientists, adventurers, journalists, writers, associations, and various organizations working for the enhancement of outdoor sports and activities, environmental protection, sustainable development, humanitarian actions, and ecotourism.

All film screenings in competition and out of competition, conferences/debates, and photography exhibitions will be held in the exceptional setting of Phoenix Park, mainly in the large tropical greenhouse, the Linnรฉ room, and the ร‰meraude exhibition room.

The opening evening and Wednesday, November 11th, will be particularly dedicated to the screening of about ten films out of competition followed by conferences/debates.

The topics will focus first on the local natural heritage (highlighting its exceptional diversity and the fact that there are still many discoveries to be made very close to home. The presentation of recent research in our region will prove it). Other topics will lead much further, across all latitudes, as part of a forum on travel and exploration.

Thursday, November 12th, will be a day reserved exclusively for schools.

The weekend, from Friday, November 13th (evening only) to Sunday, November 15th (end of the afternoon), will be dedicated to the screenings of about twenty documentary films in competition, divided into four categories: nature and environment, sports adventure, human adventure, scientific adventure.

In 2015, AGEFIISA* will celebrate the 20th edition of the festival. It will have achieved, over the course of these twenty years:

The pre-selection and viewing of more than 2000 films (the vast majority being documentary films from all countries)

The screening of 750 documentary films, 450 selected for competition and 300 for the “off” festival, most of which have been subject to conferences/debates

The screening of more than 100 slideshows and audiovisual montages

The organization of 95 photo exhibitions with the participation of nearly 600 photographers.

The organization of around a hundred activities (round tables, teleconferences, shows, demonstrations of outdoor sports activities, workshops for children, school receptions, …)

The organization of about ten associative and commercial mini-fairs
