Nice-Cannes Marathon: sport (and life) resumes its rights

Latest News

After so many doubts and hesitations, the official presentation of the Nice-Cannes Marathon has finally marked a certain return to normalcy.

Yes, the race will indeed take place, and it will be “the symbol of life, peace, and sport of the Cรดte d’Azur” – said Pascal Thiriot, president of Azur Sport Organisation, in the presence of the authorities and sports leaders present.

Nonetheless, for safety reasons, the start of the 9th edition will take place at the Allianz Riviera.

The competition will maintain its dream setting, a colorful and vibrant 42.195 km course throughout the 7 towns it passes through.

87% of the route will be along the seaside, who can offer better?

Three races in one: the classic 42.195 km, a 2 x 21.1 km duo with each completing half the distance, and the team relay with 6 members covering distances ranging from 3 to 10.8 km.

The participants total 13,700, slightly more than 600 fewer than last year, which was a record-breaking edition. The decline arises from foreign registrants (24% of the total), as some alerts have yet to be lifted.

At this point, the die is cast. All that’s left is to await the big day and keep fingers crossed for fair weather.
