Once again this year, the festival Cโest pas classique will make the city vibrate with the sound of violins, piano melodies, and the soarings of symphony orchestras.
Organized by the General Council of Alpes-Maritimes, pulling out all the stops for its tenth anniversary which will be held from Friday, October 31 to Sunday, November 2 at the Palais Acropolis in Nice.
More than fifty artists will take turns on stage during concerts, as well as shows, theater performances, workshops, and exhibitions. All generations will gather around the love of classical music!
Opening the festival is a special anniversary evening given by the Nice Philharmonic Orchestra and its surprise guest. This event concert will set the tone for these three days dedicated to excellence. Also headlining the festival: Nemanja Radulovic and the Regional PACA Orchestra and Wax Tailor and The Phonovisions Symphonic Orchestra. As a befitting patron of this tenth edition, the pianist and composer Jean-Franรงois Zygel, who has made the democratization of classical music his cause.
This exceptional program will be completed by other great names such as Elizabeth Vidal, recognized as one of the highest voices in the world, Julian Rachlin, one of the most charismatic and respected violinists of his generation, Nathalia Romanenko, an internationally renowned pianist, Didier Lockwood, a genius improviser, Patricia Petibon, a sparkling soprano, Francois-Renรฉ Duchable, and Alain Carrรฉ, brilliant interpreters of Chopin’s intimacy and the world of Liszt.
A weekend that promises beautiful surprises with the “Concerts pas classique” whose concept is simple and terribly catchy: to revisit the classics in shows blending humor and quirky staging. The workshops offered throughout the weekend will, in turn, introduce young audiences to instruments, singing, and body music. The exhibition by artist Aicha Hamu is also on the long list of events not to be missed. The Off will finally allow discovering concerts and activities outside the walls at the Laure Ecard hall and the Mercury cinema.
