The Eurocup takes up residence at the Leyrit hall for the first of three home games in the group stage: the Niss’Angels will host the Swiss team Fribourg there tonight (at 7 PM).
Having been defeated by Basket Landes in the first round, the team from Nice cannot afford any mistakes if they want to maintain their ambition of qualifying: Fribourg is probably the weakest team in the group (they lost on their home turf against Venice on the first day).
The challenge is to turn the prediction into a result and prepare for the decisive match against the Italians who will come to Leyrit on November 9 to win.
Meanwhile, Nice will complete their home triptych next Sunday against Charleville, who are ahead in the standings (3 defeats for 2 wins against 2 defeats for 3 wins for the Niss’Angels).
A more than delicate match since Nice has already lost a home game, the first of the championship, against Angers. A second defeat would be problematic and would put the Niss’Angels in a position of having to chase the others in the standings with the psychological strain that this entails.
A prospect to be avoided by securing a great victory.
