Two new cases of Xylella Fastidiosa

Latest News

It was forgotten during the election campaign. But Xylella Fastidiosa does not vote. On the contrary, it takes advantage of the situation to expand its range of harm.

As part of the heightened vigilance of state services, two myrtle-leaf milkwort shrubs (Polygala myrtifolia) located in two areas of the commune of Saint-Laurent-du-Var have been identified as carriers of the Xylella Fastidiosa bacterium, subspecies multiplex, by the ANSES plant health laboratory.

Given the proximity of these plants to the first myrtle-leaf milkwort found positive in Saint-Laurent-du-Var, the delimited zone of 10 km around these outbreaks does not impact any new commune.

These new cases bring the total number of outbreaks discovered in the PACA region to 8, including 7 in the Alpes-Maritimes department.
