The Regional Council is being established, a council of elders is on the horizon.

Following last Sunday’s result, the chamber is changing colors: pink, red, and green will disappear and will be replaced by the majority’s blue and the opposition’s brown.

Christian Estrosiโ€™s running mates will count 81 members (including himself, 18 from the 06 departmental representatives, Agnรจs Rampal, Bernard Kleynhoff, Jennifer Salles-Barbosa, Pier-Paul Leonelli, representing the colors of Nissa la Bella).

Marion Le Pen and her group will hold 42 seats (including 9 from the Marin Alps region, among them Nice residents Olivier Bettati, Philippe Vardon, and Benoรฎt Loeuillet).

For reasons of territorial rebalancing and electoral weight, Marseille’s Renaud Muselier will be the 1st Vice President.

Christian Estrosi had announced following Christophe Castaner’s decision to withdraw that a “territorial” council will be established, followed by a council of elders “to allow those who made the sacrifice of not being in the second round to express themselves.” This council, which does not meet any legal obligation, will give a voice to those who failed to secure elected positions.

It will be composed of former regional presidents, Jean-Claude Gaudin, Michel Pezet, and Michel Vauzelle, and other party representatives following criteria that are not yet known.

The new regional president’s staff made it clear that it will not be a co-management body but will simply have an advisory role.

While we wait to learn more, let’s hope that this “counter-power” will be one (or not just a new menu change from bouillabaisse to Niรงoise salad!).

Beyond the results, citizens have just communicated to politicians their intolerance for their machinations.
