This proposed law would therefore allow notifying the student who has accumulated four half-days of absence over a month of classes. The Academy Inspector would then be informed and must meet with the responsible parent(s) for an interview. In case of recurrence by the student, the Academy Inspector could contact the Family Allowance Fund to request the suspension of the allowances paid to the parents.
This proposal does not, however, signify the end of the existing Parental Responsibility Contract but adds a new decision-making power with the Academy Inspectors, who will now be authorized to suspend family allowances, which, to date, can only be done by the President of the General Council.
There is also no question of sidelining the monitoring of negligent parents, and, as such, the Academy Inspector may also appeal to the General Council to implement the PRC, thus ensuring family support within its framework. A proposed law that will strike where it hurts, in the wallet, but only as a last resort after having implemented genuine social support.
