The Departmental Olympic and Sports Committee of Alpes-Maritimes is organizing a Conference on Monday, December 8 at 6:30 PM at the Photography and Image Theater on the theme of Harassment in Sports “Everyone is concerned, even female athletes”.
Philippe MANASSERO, President of CDOS 06 and Lorenza BERGAMASCO, project manager of CDOS 06 in charge of organizing the event, wish to raise awareness among coaches, sports managers, as broad an audience as possible, as well as victims about the importance of breaking the silence.
This conference will provide information and facilitate discussions on the issue of harassment in sports and offer insights into the phenomena, clearly distinguishing between aggression, abuse, or any other forms of violence. Identifying excessive and inappropriate behaviors will help raise awareness about what can be unacceptable in sports practice.
A significant witness at this conference, Isabelle DEMONGEOT, (former number 2 in French tennis), will participate in the debate to testify about what she endured for years behind locker room doors.
Professional speakers will bring their experience and perspective on this subject: Natacha HIMELFARB, Delegate for Women’s Rights, DDCS 06 (Departmental Directorate of Social Cohesion of Alpes-Maritimes), Marie-Franรงoise POTEREAU, President of FEMIXโSPORTS, Warrant Officer Patricia WARION, National Gendarmerie – BPDJ, Chief Warrant Officer Christine SANDRANE, National Gendarmerie – BPDJ (Juvenile Delinquency Prevention Brigade), Christine CARO, Neuropsychologist – University of Nice-Sophia Antipolis.
