The general assembly of the French Society of Geriatrics and Gerontology (SFGG) has formalized its new board, with Olivier Guérin at its head. He is a university professor and hospital practitioner in geriatrics, head of the gerontology department at the Nice University Hospital, and previously the vice-president of the SFGG. He is also the Deputy Mayor of Nice, responsible for health, autonomy, and the silver economy.
Established in 1961, the SFGG notably brings together all the regional societies of geriatrics and/or gerontology and more than 5,000 members, all of whom are healthcare professionals specialized in aging.
