Since August 2019, a municipal plot of land has been illegally occupied by about a hundred people on Boulevard Jean Luciano, creating significant nuisances: nighttime fires, illegal dumping of garbage, small children wandering on traffic lanes…
An intolerable situation for which the City Hall of Nice had initiated an eviction procedure with the Tribunal de Grande Instance of Nice, as early as last September.
In December 2019, while the winter truce does not apply to illegal occupations and these people occupy this land without any legal rights, the urgent applications judge notified that they were required to leave the premises only from April 1, 2020.
Today, nearly a hundred people live in caravans or makeshift shelters. Aware of the nuisances caused by this illegal occupation and in order to ensure everyone’s safety, the city of Nice has mobilized all its services and remains particularly attentive to the development of the situation.
