The State, through the DIRRECTE (Regional Directorate for Enterprises, Competition, Consumer Affairs, Labor, and Employment), has just announced the changes in the number of job seekers at the metropolitan, departmental, and regional levels, which should be compared to the national trend.

This quarterly monitoring, which serves as an objective and relevant barometer of the dynamics of the metropolitan area, reveals that in the fourth quarter of 2019, in the territory of the Nice Cรดte d’Azur Metropolis, the number of category A job seekers amounts to 65,290 people, representing a decrease of -2.8% over a quarter and -5.5% over a year.

For comparison, this figure decreases by 2.2% over a quarter and 4.9% over a year at the regional level, and it decreases by 2.3% over a quarter and 5.1% over a year at the departmental level of the Alpes-Maritimes.

At the national level, unemployment has declined by -3.3% over a year.
