On the occasion of the presentation of the mobile team agents supporting PCR COVID-19 testing (nasopharyngeal swab tests), the President of the Departmental Council, Charles-Ange Ginésy, signed the coordination protocol on testing in medico-social establishments during the COVID-19 period between the Department of Alpes-Maritimes and the Regional Health Agency (ARS), in the presence of Bernard Gonzalez, Prefect of Alpes-Maritimes, and Romain Alexandre, departmental delegate of the ARS of Alpes-Maritimes.
The Department of Alpes-Maritimes will initiate preventive screening for residents and staff of nursing homes (EHPAD).
This screening is one of the keys to controlling the COVID-19 epidemic, particularly in social and medico-social establishments, and especially in facilities caring for the elderly.
Thus, the Department has formed a mobile team composed of 8 doctors and 6 nurses to conduct PCR tests following the signing of an agreement with the Provence-Alpes-Côte d’Azur Regional Health Agency. Starting next week, the team will visit nursing homes to test staff and residents.
