The FIFA Women’s World Cup trophy is touring France and the nine host cities of the competition. It made a stop at the Rauba Capeu quay.
The general public came in large numbers to see the trophy in the presence of Youri Djorkaeff and the mascot Ettie, known as the daughter of Footix. The visitors, both locals from Nice and tourists, had the opportunity to see the trophy and the former World Cup champion from 1998 during an autograph and photo session. Created in 1998, the trophy resembles a spiral of gold and bronze encircling a ball.
“I believe it is important to inspire girls through the World Cup, which is a magnificent competition to play,” said Youri Djorkaeff between signing autographs.
