The Departmental Council of Alpes-Maritimes, in partnership with the Departmental Running Commission of Alpes-Maritimes, has been offering the Trail Nature Challenge 06 since 2008.
Since its first edition, this Challenge has continuously innovated for sustainable management of outdoor sports. Deeply involved in sustainable development and recognized by the French National Olympic and Sports Committee through the label “Agenda 21, Sustainable Development, Sport is Committed…,” the Trail Nature Challenge 06 develops numerous GREEN Deal actions.
This challenge is based on several events organized by different associations affiliated with the Departmental Athletics Committee, offering various races spread across the departmental territory, resulting in 3 rankings: the Short Trail Challenge (10 to 20 km), the Long Trail Challenge (21 to 69 km), and the Super Challenge (cumulative of 3 short and 2 long courses).
Throughout the 2019 Challenge, 380 km of courses with 24,600 m of elevation gain were proposed.
The Ultra Trail® Côte d’Azur Mercantour returns in 2020 with a 6th edition that promises great surprises!
