A Dive into the Soul of the World
The wild… This world we have not inhabited for millennia, this forgotten continent that still runs in our veins: this is what this book invites us to explore. Highlighting this work is the result of many years of photography, carried out in all seasons, using specially constructed hides near passageways. The remarkable text by Caroline Audibert accompanies this journey through solitude, where the knowledge of the environment blends with the singular approach of Cédric Robion, who brings unmatched power and aesthetics to wildlife photojournalism with discretion and patience. These unforgettable images, in the exclusive realm of Mercantour, place the protection of wildlife at the heart of the European naturalist project.
Caroline Audibert
A journalist and author, she has been exploring for many years the relationships people cultivate with their environment, particularly in the Alps. Influenced by her life in high-altitude refuges, she has a sensitive and philosophical perspective on the high lands of Mercantour, to which she has also dedicated a documentary film. Her ecological approach is found in her books, from “La Sente étroite au bout des Alpes” (Glénat) to “Des loups et des hommes” (Terre Humaine, Plon).
Cédric Robion
A ski instructor, member of the Oeroc guides bureau in Valberg, and photographer by passion, he became a naturalist to enjoy observing animals in their habitat in complete freedom: this perfect knowledge allows him to approach them without ever disturbing them. His work is marked by great discretion, a sign of his respect and love for nature. From these long hours dedicated to contemplating wildlife, this book was born.
