It’s a first, but a significant one!
The Nice Côte d’Azur Metropolis, already equipped with several dozen natural gas buses, continues to invest in achieving a 100% decarbonized bus network.
With the deployment of electric buses on line 12 “CAP 3000 <> Promenade des Arts,” we are witnessing a significant leap forward.
This measure, accompanying the commissioning of tram line 2, aims to offer an alternative, more environmentally friendly mode of transport with these buses along the city’s east-west axis, thereby further improving air quality and reducing noise pollution.
Indeed, the removal of conventional buses from the routes served by tram line 2 has eliminated 10% of the most disturbing noise peaks.
For Christian Estrosi, who has decidedly turned “green”: “According to an AtmoSud simulation, the new network organization should lead to a 6% reduction in greenhouse gases (GHG), a 20% reduction in nitrogen oxides (NOx), and a 14% reduction in fine particulate matter PM2.5.”
