This contract sets reciprocal objectives for better performance, improved service, and a better consideration of the expectations of TER passengers. It also constitutes a path for progressive improvement of the railway network’s performance, through a 10-year roadmap to prioritize needs.
This is the first performance contract initiated in France between a region and SNCF Réseau.
The Region will allocate €350 million over the next 10 years for the modernization of the network and major infrastructure projects.
Beyond its participation in co-financed projects, SNCF Réseau invests nearly €250 to €300 million each year in the Provence-Alpes-Côte d’Azur railway network. In 2020, €280 million are being invested in the Provence-Alpes-Côte d’Azur network, including €194 million for modernization and €86 million for maintenance.
