Latest News

This Wednesday, the departmental Olympic and sports committee (CDOS) of the Alpes-Maritimes gathered at the Nice Chamber of Commerce and Industry (CCI) where a conference took place to present the third season of the Team Espoirs CDOS 06.

The session is underway. Accompanied by the vice-president of CDOS 06, Jean-Luc Petit, the 2012 Olympic champion in Canoe Kayak, Emilie Fer, and the President of CDOS 06 himself, Philippe Manassero.

What is the “Team Espoirs CDOS 06”?

Created on May 23, 2019, the Team Espoirs CDOS 06 is a personalized support system designed for high-level young athletes of the Alpes-Maritimes, champions in their discipline, all aged 17 to 23, all registered on the ministerial lists.

The objective of this system is to provide the necessary means for athletes to succeed and shine in major competitions such as the Paris 2024 Olympic and Paralympic Games, while allowing them to secure a future for themselves.

It is not about guiding them to another path, but rather accompanying them throughout their careers alongside their educational and professional obligations.

Season 3 in a few figures

This year, the Team Espoirs CDOS 06 includes 164 eligible athletes, 51 application files, 32 athletes selected for the third season, 16 of whom participated in the previous two.

Among these 32 selected, there are 19 boys and 13 girls, spread across 18 different disciplines (fencing, table tennis, judo, sailing, athletics, etc.).

With this new team representing the values of sport 06, the departmental Olympic committee of the Alpes-Maritimes hopes that its system will be a success for this third season.
