In 2022, the Alpes-Maritimes department will allocate 270 million euros for the support of elderly and disabled people, which is the largest portion of the department’s social action budget.
As part of its health policy, the department aims to continue its commitment and support towards home care services. For 2022, it particularly wishes to promote home care.
Concretely, this will be reflected in several specific actions, initiated from 2022:
Financial aid will be granted to home care services. The department wants to promote the quality of care, training, and the recruitment of staff. From 2022, the hourly rate for the personalized autonomy allowance and the disability compensation benefit will increase to 22 euros per hour. This represents an increase of 7.6 million euros for the department’s annual budget.
For the home care of elderly and disabled people, the department is allocating 125 million euros for the year 2022.
With the departmental center for autonomy professions, created last October, the department aims to support recruitment and enhance the attractiveness of careers in the medico-social sector. To this end, it plans to implement various communication and awareness campaigns, to inspire vocations for these professions.
During the last departmental council on December 17, the first departmental autonomy plan was adopted. Its goal is to improve the support for elderly and disabled people by accelerating home care and professionalizing the sector.
