A National Tribute paid in memory of the victims of the Notre Dame Basilica attack

As announced, this morning at 10 a.m. on the Castle Hill, Prime Minister Jean Castex will preside over the ceremony. Former President of the Republic Nicolas Sarkozy will also be present.


Other members of the Government will be in Nice: ร‰ric Dupond-Moretti, Minister of Justice, Frรฉdรฉrique Vidal, Minister of Higher Education, Research and Innovation, and Marlรจne Schiappa, Minister Delegate to the Minister of the Interior, in charge of Citizenship. Jรฉrรดme Bertin, Director General of the France Victims Federation, will also be present.

During the ceremony, “The Victims’ Hymn” as well as the Marseillaise will be sung by the Nice Opera Choir, and Jean Castex and the Mayor of Nice will speak.

The three victims will be posthumously awarded “the Medal of Recognition for Victims of Terrorism.” The portraits of the victims will be carried by their families and loved ones.

Medals will also be given to the Nice municipal police officers who participated in the neutralization of the attacker.

The ceremony will be closed to the public; 110 relatives of the victims and 90 guests are expected.
