While leading 2 sets to 0 and 21-18 in the 3rd set, the team from Nice managed to lose to Nantes (23-25, 22-25, 25-22, 25-19, 15-9).
Nice still takes away a point but sees their opponent closing in by one point.
And yet everything started so well…
Despite a tenacious Nantes team, Nice managed to take the lead at the end of the first set (21-18) before securing a definitive advantage (25-23).
The Nantes team started the 2nd set with a bang and were the first to reach the 10-point mark (6-10). Nonetheless, Kasic’s men managed to turn the tide, thanks in large part to numerous technical errors by the players of NRMV (25-22).

Tupchii’s teammates continued to play their game to secure a victory that seemed promised to them. They led 21-18 in this 3rd set before completely losing their focus.
Nantes, with nothing left to lose, began to take the upper hand and capitalized by snatching the set right under NVB’s nose. (22-25)
This should have just been a setback for the team from Nice. However, Nantes, now full of confidence after this comeback, dominated their opponent from the start of the 4th set (1-6).
Nice, nevertheless, managed to catch up (13-13) but ultimately fell significantly short (19-25).
Nice had already lost at least one point. At this moment, the victory became more important from a psychological standpoint than from a scoreboard perspective.
Unfortunately, the fired-up Nantes team made short work of NVB in this final set and ultimately won the match. (15-9).
This defeat will undoubtedly leave its mark, even though Nice still takes a point and remains ahead of their evening opponent.
