Italy will impose a quarantine on travelers coming from the European Union.

In Italy, tradition dictates that for Easter celebrations, a dove, a symbol of peace, is given as a gift. This weekend is also a spring festivity, particularly popular for “fuori porta” outings, outside of one’s usual place of residence.

Moreover, a popular saying expresses it well: Natale con i tuoi, Pasqua con chi vuoi. In short, if Christmas is a family holiday, Easter is celebrated more freely with friends. However, the virus that is the cause of the pandemic does not acknowledge this custom and continues to ravage the peninsula, which has recorded over 108,000 deaths.

Therefore, there will be no “gite fuori porta” between the Alpes-Maritimes and the border regions of Liguria and Piedmont, both placed in the red zone. Everyone will stay home, waiting for better times.

Italy will impose a 5-day quarantine (with a PCR test upon entry and exit from the territory) for anyone arriving from the European Union. Starting this Thursday, April 1st, EU citizens arriving in Italy will be subject to a 5-day isolation, even with a negative Covid test. A new test will then be conducted at the end of the quarantine. This also applies to Italians returning from abroad to their homes!

The information was disclosed this Tuesday by the Italian Ministry of Health. This is already the case for those coming from non-EU countries.
