The Insee reports that between September 1 and November 16, France recorded 141,700 deaths (all causes combined), which is +14% compared to 2019 and +16% compared to 2018.
396 people have died from Covid-19 in hospitals since yesterday, bringing the total to 51,914 victims, including those who died in nursing homes and medico-social establishments, announced Public Health France and the Ministry of Health this Friday.
12,459 new cases have been detected in the last 24 hours. The previous day, 13,563 people had tested positive. In total, 10,172 new hospitalizations have been recorded over the past seven days, including 1,557 in intensive care. Currently, 28,648 people are hospitalized, with 3,883 in intensive care.
The positivity rate continues to decrease: as of this Friday, it stands at 11.7%. 3,724 “clusters,” or epidemic outbreaks, are under investigation, including 1,589 in nursing homes. 100 departments are in a situation of high vulnerability.
