OGC Nice expresses interest in Christophe Galtier for the position of head coach, replacing Adrian Ursea starting next season.
After their last match against FC Nantes (1-2), OGC Nice has made its decision and plans not to retain Adrian Ursea as coach next season. The club’s management is considering recruiting Christophe Galtier, the current coach of LOSC.
According to information from the newspaper “LโEquipe,” the Gym and its management wish to bring in Christophe Galtier to continue developing the project of its owner, the Briton Jim Ratcliffe.
The Gym’s Ambitions
Nice has big ambitions. In order to convince the coach of Lille, the club leading the Ligue 1 Uber Eats championship ahead of Paris SG, the Nice club would be ready to invest what it takes, even doubling his salary, estimated at โฌ180,000 gross per month. On their radar, OGC Nice is also interested in other figures like Pedro Martins from Olympiakos (Greece), Peter Bosz, the former coach available from Bayer Leverkusen whom the Gym faced in the Europa League this season, or Julien Stรฉphan, the former coach of Stade Rennais, also available.
The Gym targets the native of Marseille and is ready to double his salary to try to convince him. At the same time, Nice is also considering Peter Bosz (available) and Pedro Martins (Olympiakos). On the Lille side, they are not on the same page as Olivier Lรฉtang, president of LOSC, would like to offer a new contract to Christophe Galtier.
Galtier’s Response
Even though OGC Nice has planned to invest heavily to bring the northern coach to the Cรดte dโAzur, this hypothesis remains highly debated. The northern French coach, a native of Marseille, has denied any contact with the Nice club as well as the figures advanced by the newspaper.
Discussions are scheduled for the coming weeks between Christophe Galtier and his president, Olivier Lรฉtang.
