While concerns about the Brazilian variant are higher than ever in France, the country recorded 324 new deaths due to Covid-19 this Tuesday, compared to 385 the previous day.
In detail, these 324 new deaths occurred in hospitals, bringing the total number of deaths to 99,459 since the start of the epidemic. In hospitals, 31,226 patients with the disease are currently being cared for, compared to 31,262 on Monday.
Regarding severe cases, the numbers continue to rise, nearing the peak of the first wave of the epidemic one year ago. Currently, 5,952 patients are in critical care (intensive care, intensive units, continuous monitoring), compared to 5,916 on Monday. There are 555 new admissions to report.
Santé Publique France also counted 39,113 new infections this Tuesday, recorded over the past 24 hours, compared to 34,895 on Sunday, and 10,793 seven days ago.
Over 3.8 million people vaccinated
On the vaccination front, 3,837,266 French people have received two doses of the Covid-19 vaccine since the start of the vaccination campaign, according to a report from the Directorate General of Health released on Monday. In total, more than 11 million people have received at least one injection in France.
