The number of Covid-19 patients in critical care units dropped below the threshold of 5,900 people on Saturday evening, and the total number of people positive for the coronavirus in hospitals also decreased.
In twenty-four hours, 359 patients were admitted to these units that handle the most severe cases, compared to 463 the day before. For a week, the number of Covid-19 patients in these units had been slightly above 5,900, still far from the peak of the first wave in April 2020 (7,000).
The total number of people in hospitals is also slightly down, with 30,329 coronavirus-positive patients currently hospitalized, compared to 30,472 the previous day. In total, 1,471 people have been hospitalized in the past twenty-four hours.
