An ecological and civic morning at Mont Boron Park

Latest News

Yesterday, over 100 volunteers, accompanied by the Environmental House and the Green Spaces Department of the City of Nice, participated in the preservation of Mont Boron.

The aim is to remove two invasive species from two heavily colonized areas of 1,000 square meters each. These species, with their exponential growth, suffocate the native vegetation: the Senecio, or Cape Ragwort, and the Chasmanthe, from the Iridaceae family. These are invasive species not only on Mont Boron but also throughout all parks and gardens in Nice affected by this phenomenon.

Participants in this ecological and civic morning will include volunteers from the Animation and Associative Life Department of the City of Nice, the Green Team from Hotel Negresco, employees from Experian-Scorex, members from the Educational and Pedagogical Therapeutic Institute (ITEP) La Luerna, as well as around twenty “general public” volunteers.

The Mont Boron Park, with an area of 570,000 square meters, is one of the green lungs of the city of Nice, perched more than 190 meters high. The park offers a unique panorama of the Mediterranean coastline from Italy to the Estรฉrel, passing through Saint Jean Cap-Ferrat, Villefranche-sur-Mer, and the mountainous landscapes. Eleven kilometers of marked trails have been laid out.
