Ranking of countries’ attractiveness as professional destinations: France in 7th position

According to a comprehensive survey conducted by the Boston Consulting Group, an international management consulting firm, the proportion of the global population willing to relocate for work has decreased.

It reveals that 57% of respondents would be willing to move abroad for their job, down from 64% in 2014. It is in emerging countries that the largest number of individuals wishing to expatriate for work has been recorded. 90% of respondents in India and 70% in Brazil stated they would be willing to leave their country to find a job that suits them.

In this year’s edition, the survey shows that the United States continues to be the most popular global destination for work. The chart below indicates that 34% of respondents would be willing to live in the United States for a suitable job.

In Europe, the United Kingdom topped the list of popular destinations for foreign workers in the previous edition. It has recently been replaced by Germany, which has taken the second spot with 26%. The United Kingdom has now fallen to 5th place with 20%.

China, despite its rapid economic growth, is absent from the top 10. Japan is the only Asian country to make its entry into the ranking at the 10th position.
