Covid-19: The third dose campaign begins in nursing homes

Latest News

Residents of nursing homes will be able to receive a third dose of the Covid-19 vaccine starting September 12, announced Prime Minister Jean Castex this Thursday.

Those over 65 years old and people with comorbidities will be able to schedule an appointment for their third dose from the beginning of September, as recommended by the High Health Authority.

The third dose is considered necessary because “vaccination protection for some people (the most vulnerable, the oldest) declines,” emphasized the head of government. With vaccination, “there is an 8 times lower chance of being infected and an 11 times lower chance of being hospitalized,” he highlighted.
