The Lou Babazouk gallery invites you to discover two exhibitions from August 31 to September 19.
Yesterday, two artists and their works joined the Lou Babazouk Municipal Gallery: “ On the Road. Photo-poetry of the Promenade des Anglais” by Isabelle GIRARD and “The Tropical Studio in Hawaii” by Elis SECUNDO.
Appreciate the Promenade des Anglais for its true worth!
Photographs and poems to put the daily “routine” into perspective, in the idyllic setting of Nice.
With her exhibition “On the Road. Photo-poetry of the Promenade des Anglais“, Isabelle Girard reminds the people of Nice how lucky they are to have the Promenade des Anglais at their side.
Using her smartphone, over two months, the artist captured the mythical avenue in all its authenticity.
“It is about expressing the depth of the everyday, the despised commute from home to work, in which there is nevertheless richness, especially in the exceptional setting of the Promenade des Anglais, which many of the people of Nice hardly see, due to familiarity with the location or the stress of daily life,” explains Isabelle Girard.
Color and subjectivity
The Brazilian artist Elis Secundo describes the works of her exhibition “The Tropical Studio in Hawaii” as a “colored conical outgrowth, placed directly on the floor, without a base. As the title suggests, the shapes refer to the tentacles of octopuses that Secundo had several opportunities to observe during her dives in the southern seas,” confides the artist.
