On this Sunday, September 11, the tenth edition of the event “Aux Soleils des deux rives” will take place, this year with the theme “Harkis and Pieds-Noirs, One Heart.” This new edition will pay tribute to the Sixtieth Anniversary of the Repatriation in 2022.
On December 1, 1962, Jean Médecin, the Mayor of Nice at the time, established a municipal service for returning settlers from Algeria. It was with this vision that the event was created, paying homage to the repatriates. Thus, we are celebrating the sixtieth anniversary of this symbolic date, and many activities are planned for the entire evening.
For the occasion, we will have the exceptional presence of Enrico Macias, who will perform a concert at the end of the evening.
Here is the schedule for the evening:
- 10 AM: Opening to the public.
- 10:30 AM: Music by the Nice Firefighters’ Orchestra.
- 11 AM: Mass presided over by His Excellency Monsignor Jean-Philippe Nault, Bishop of Nice.
- 12 PM: Discovery of culinary traditions.
- 12:30 PM-5:30 PM: Musical, cultural, and artistic activities: oriental dances, Trio de guinguettes, Sun Record, and Syka James.
- 5:30 PM: Speech by Christian Estrosi, Mayor of Nice, President of the Nice Côte d’Azur Metropolis, Deputy President of the Provence-Alpes-Côte d’Azur Region.
- 6 PM-8 PM: Concert by Enrico Macias.
