The Mayor of Nice announced this morning about an eviction operation carried out early in the morning in the La Lingostière neighborhood.
Christian Estrosi and the prefect of Alpes Maritimes, Bernard Gonzalez, mobilized the cleaning department as well as the National and Municipal Police of Maralpine for an evacuation and cleaning operation of a squat.
Located behind the Carrefour Lingostière, the land was occupied by individuals responsible for a major fire a few weeks ago. On site, numerous waste left by the squat occupants was found, as well as “dangerous and asbestos-containing products and vehicles that the teams of the Nice Côte d’Azur Metropolis are already in the process of removing”.
“We will not give in to those whose sole occupation is making life miserable for the people of Nice,” declared the Mayor of Nice and President of the Nice Côte d’Azur Metropolis.
