They dreaded it and it happened, the health pass becomes mandatory for all teenagers from the age of 12 years and two months. Just like the majority of the people concerned, young people will also have to present a QR code in public places, restaurants, cinemas, gyms, theaters, and also for certain school outings.
Five million young people will be affected by this new procedure from today, September 30. An expansion (according to the government) that was initially scheduled for August 30 but postponed by a month after the health law was voted in parliament.
As a result, minors aged 12 to 17 will have to present their health pass at the entrance to each public space, which might become complicated for participating in school outings.
Access to educational establishments is not subject to the health pass requirement. It will be mandatory during all school outings organized in a place or space capable of accommodating the public.
The health pass will notably be required during classes and sports activities. “The only time it does not apply is during physical education and sports conducted within a school environment,” the Minister of National Education stated on Tuesday on franceinfo. Regarding the check of the pass in sports clubs, “the rule that has been established is that we only present it once,” added Jean-Michel Blanquer.
