In light of Pink October, Nice is launching an awareness campaign against breast cancer. On Monday, October 4, a pink table is organized.
In France, every year, more than 12,000 women die from breast cancer. However, if detected early, it can be treated in 90% of cases.
Thus, the month of October marks the beginning of a massive awareness campaign on the effects of the disease. The aim is to encourage women to get screened and to adopt preventive measures. It also aims to collect donations to advance research.
As a reminder, women aged 25 are advised to get screened once a year and to have a mammogram approximately every two years. These consultations are fully covered by social security.
Actions in Nice
In this context, on Monday at 9 am, the Foyer of the Opera of Nice will host “Crossed Views: Cancer and Career”: a round table during which women will share how cancer impacts their professional careers.
The azure capital joins the prevention month by organizing various awareness actions throughout the month.
For the 28th edition of “Pink October,” the #ILoveNice hashtag at Rauba Capeu is adorned with a large pink ribbon.
