According to published statistics, the number of job seekers (category A) decreased in November for the third consecutive time, dropping from 3,478,800 in October (in the metropolitan territory) to 3.447 million last month – a decrease of 31,800.
One has to go back before the crisis caused by the collapse of Lehman Brothers eight years ago to find a longer period of decline:
In metropolitan France, this number fell by 3.1% over three months, by 0.9% over one month, and by 3.4% over one year.
In the Paca region, the number of job seekers stands at 324,200.
This number decreased by 1.2% over three months (which is -4,020 people), increased by 0.1% over one month, and decreased by 0.9% over one year.
In the Alpes-Maritimes, the number of job seekers is stable compared to October, standing at 70,400 people.
Over three months, this represents a decrease of 0.2% and 0.3% over one year.
