Amraoui, Belahyane, Dupé… Here’s a summary of OGC Nice’s transfer week

Latest News

Clearly very active during this winter transfer window period, the Gym is calmly preparing for the second half of the season. Here’s a focus on the information you shouldn’t miss.

In search of playing time, Ayoub Amraoui joins Nancy until the end of the season. The 19-year-old defender, capable of playing in the center or on the left, will play under the orders of Pablo Correa, in a club that is in 7th place in National. Trained at Nice, Amraoui has 12 matches with the first team and one goal against Sheriff Tiraspol. Winner of the U23 African Cup of Nations last summer with the Moroccan national team, the native of La Seyne signed his first professional contract on November 24, 2023.

“It was an opportunity I didn’t want to miss”

Reda Belahyane

Having joined the Gym in 2019, Reda Belahyane is also leaving the club. At 19, the midfielder has been transferred to Hellas Verona (Italy) for an amount reportedly 500,000 euros according to the specialist site Transfermarkt. The native of Aubervilliers, who notably passed through INF Clairefontaine, signed his first professional contract in June 2021 before entering the professional world at the beginning of 2023. He has 8 matches with the Eagles at the highest level, including 2 this season, against Auxerre and Rennes. “I thank OGC Nice for all these beautiful years. I also thank the Club for allowing me to join Hellas Verona. Good luck to OGC Nice for the rest of the season and for the future, and Issa Nissa!” declared the player before joining Serie A.

A new goalkeeper to forget Sirigu

The news has just come in, Maxime Dupé is now with Nice. The U20 World Champion in 2013 – alongside former Eagles Mario Lemina and Alexy Bosetti – comes to strengthen the Côte d’Azur group. “Maxime is a reliable asset in our championship,” explains Florent Ghisolfi, sporting director of OGC Nice. “In this transfer window, we had two priorities, with the arrivals of Mohamed-Ali Cho and Valentin Rosier. With the departure of Salvatore (Sirigu), recruiting a goalkeeper was also part of our considerations. And the opportunity to welcome Maxime convinced us. With Marcin Bułka and Teddy Boulhendi, we have 3 high-level goalkeepers.”

Youcef Atal, where do we stand?

Despite his troubles with the French justice system, Atal could very well return to OGC Nice: “he is under contract until June. He will return with the team. His suspension is over, so the player is available ,” explained Francesco Farioli at a press conference this Thursday. However, according to the French radio station France Bleu, an entirely different strategy regarding the Algerian right back might be under consideration. Indeed, the club hopes to sell the player during the remaining days of the transfer window. The Eagles’ management hopes to benefit from a transfer, given that Youcef’s contract will expire this summer. According to the latest reports, the 27-year-old, known as “the Fennec,” is being scouted in the Gulf, Spain, Turkey, and even Greece, giving him a fairly wide range of possibilities. Stay tuned…
