The Aiglonnes traveled this Wednesday, February 7, for a match against the players of Paris 92.
This is the 15th day of the Women’s National Handball League, and Nice is facing Paris 92 this time. It promises to be quite an uneven match if the rankings are to be believed. Nice, for the record, is in 13th place and Paris in 4th. Moreover, OGC Nice is on a series of 4 consecutive defeats. The goal today is therefore to break this curse and get back to winning. The two teams have faced each other 21 times, and Nice has won only 7 times. Will they be able to overcome their demons?
The curse persists
The match started quite well for the Aiglonnes. The players did a remarkable job and managed to stay on the heels of Paris. The match was contested, and the Nice players even managed to take the lead early on. Then it was a descent into hell. Paris overwhelmed Nice and regained the advantage that the Niçoises had struggled to win. They stayed within reach but didn’t falter. The first half ended with a score of (17-15).
Hope is still alive and Nice closed in on the score. The girls were neck and neck. Then, halfway through the second half, it was a trigger for Paris. They rained down a flurry of goals on the Aiglonnes even though they had managed to equalize. Eight, that’s the number of goals Paris 92 scored in a row. The lead became very, if not too significant to hope for a comeback. Nice fell to Paris 92 (31-23).
