He justified it with the need for the moralization of public life, which would not have resonated with Fillon considering what we know today, and in his own words, “the almost widespread tacit acceptance of abuses on the right.”
But what was the reaction of his supporters in the Maralpine territory?
The answer comes from Fabien Bรฉnard, president of MoDem 06: “It has been ten years since we started the journey to change political practices. A long journey to overcome divisions and promote unity.”
It is too early to determine the future steps and what form the MoDem’s commitment in the Alpes-Maritimes will take in the campaign.
Fabien Bรฉnard confirms: “Our members and supporters have been very active over the past weeks and recent days, both in supporting Macron and encouraging Bayrou to be a candidate. We will organize actions to ensure that our values and proposals are prominently heard in this presidential election.”
