She will have to contend with Ciotti’s ambitions to weigh in on this election, despite him leading in the first round of the closed primary.
Valérie Pécresse had announced that she would not endorse some of Eric Ciotti’s flagship proposals, such as the creation of a French-style Guantanamo or national priority for jobs. The Nice deputy clarified his stance: “I support her, but I expect my ideas to be strongly represented.”
On Monday, the president of the LR federation of Alpes-Maritimes welcomed Valérie Pécresse for a visit to his land in the town hall of Saint-Martin-Vésubie, his stronghold.
